The Cluster

The Mongolia Cluster is based at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and at the University of Vienna, and operates within the framework of the Cluster of Excellence "EurAsian Transformations". Originally established at the University of Vienna with the support of the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, the Cluster’s goal is to provide information regarding various initiatives, resources and possibilities for the study of Mongolian History and Culture, along with their broader Eurasian context. By offering a regular program of events, the Cluster aims to strengthen the presence of Mongolian Studies in Vienna as a comprehensive field of study and research. Thanks to a number of Austrian and international programs of cooperation, it will also serve as a platform for academic dialogue on current topics of Mongolian Studies, as well as supporting exchanges of students from Austrian and Mongolian institutions.
